You’re Not Alone
Therapy for Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem & Life Transitions -
Online or in Weybridge
Confidential 15-minute call - no obligation to commit
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.
Sometimes, having space to reflect is enough of a reason to begin. Therapy offers a unique space to pause, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin to understand yourself in a new way.
Many people I work with arrive unsure whether therapy is “for them” — especially if they’ve been managing on the surface for some time. That uncertainty is completely valid. Therapy isn’t about labels or diagnosing; it’s about being supported to make sense of what you’re feeling, at a pace that feels right for you.
I offer a calm, confidential space where you can reflect on your experience and begin to reconnect with your sense of self. My approach is grounded in autonomy, clarity, and collaboration, supporting you to move forward in ways that feel more authentic to who you are.
How I Work
My approach is rooted in Transactional Analysis (TA) — a model I’ve studied intensively for over 4 years at the Connexus Institute in Brighton. TA provides a clear and accessible framework for understanding how we relate to ourselves and others. It can help reveal patterns in thinking, feeling, and behaviour that often stem from early experiences, particularly in our relationships and attachments.
I’m particularly interested in the early messages and expectations we absorb — the subtle conclusions we draw about ourselves and what we need to do to be accepted, loved or safe. These beliefs can strongly influence our confidence, emotional well-being, and how we relate in close relationships. Therapy helps bring these automatic patterns into awareness so you can have more choice about how you live and relate now.
I also work with how these patterns affect the body physically. This has led me to explore Polyvagal Theory, which helps us understand how the nervous system responds to stress, shutdown, or connection. Many people I work with experience anxiety, low mood, or emotional overwhelm in ways that are both psychological and physical.
You don’t need to come in knowing all the answers. We start from wherever you are — at a pace that feels right for you. Often, the work begins by simply noticing what has been held back, managed alone, or not yet given space — at a pace that feels safe and steady.
My Background and Professional Standards
My practice is fully supervised, and I remain committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
Before training as a therapist, I spent over 30 years in corporate leadership and coaching. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how unresolved emotional patterns can subtly influence how we work, relate, and lead — even when everything seems to be functioning well on the surface. It also taught me the value of having space to be truly listened to, especially during times when we need to hold it together amidst stress, uncertainty, or change. This continues to shape the way I work therapeutically: with respect for each person’s lived experience and a belief that genuine insight often begins when we feel truly understood.
Why People Come to Therapy
Therapy can be helpful when life feels difficult to manage and in distress, but also when things look fine on the outside, yet feel disconnected or heavy on the inside.
You might be living with:
It’s common to wonder whether therapy will help, or whether your experiences “count.” In my view, you don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. If something feels stuck, unclear, or painful — that’s enough reason to begin.
A Collaborative Approach to Therapy
Therapy isn’t about being fixed and rescued — it’s about developing a deeper understanding of yourself and your sense of self, so you can begin to live in a way that feels more authentic to who you are.
I offer a relational, grounded space where we explore your experience together, with respect, curiosity, and without pressure.
If you're considering therapy...
You're welcome to get in touch with any questions or to arrange an initial 30-minute call — there's no obligation to commit. Sometimes, the first step is simply having a conversation.
My approach is integrative and relational, drawing on a range of therapeutic models to respond to the unique needs and context of each person I work with. I work with clients in a way that respects their pace, staying present to what emerges in the room—emotionally, verbally, and somatically. Whether someone is navigating distress, disruption, or a period of change, the work offers space to move toward greater awareness, self-agency, and connection.
As a skilled psychotherapeutic counsellor trained in Transactional Analysis, I offer a compassionate, client-centered approach that places the client's unique experiences and needs at the core of the therapeutic process. I provide a safe, calm, and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and life patterns in your own way and at your own pace.
Whether the focus is on developing deeper self-awareness, healing from past experiences, or navigating a period of transition, the space is yours to use in the way that best supports your journey.
Your path. Your pace. A safe space for healing, growth and self-reflection.
At different points in life, things can feel uncertain, heavy, or more complex to make sense of. You might find yourself managing on the surface while something underneath feels unsettled or difficult to name. Counselling offers space to slow down and explore this, rather than having to work it out alone.
I provide a calm, confidential place to reflect on your experience and how it shapes the way you live, feel, and relate — to yourself and to others. The work isn’t about advice or quick solutions, but about paying attention to what’s happening for you and what might need space or expression.
Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels manageable, creating room for new understanding and the possibility of change.
I have a current DBS certificate & Full Public Liability Insurance.
I am a registered member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and UKTA UK Association for Transactional Analysis, and I adhere to their Code of Ethics and professional guidelines.
I work from a private treatment room nestled within the garden of my home in Weybridge, Surrey. This discreet space is specifically designed for focused, in-depth therapeutic work in a calm and contained environment. Many of my clients travel from the surrounding areas, including Cobham, Walton-on-Thames, Esher, West Byfleet, Byfleet, and Woking, for these in-person sessions. Additionally, I offer online counselling via Zoom to clients across the UK for those who prefer remote therapy. If you're considering online sessions, I'm happy to discuss how it works and if it's suitable for you.
I offer both online and face to face conselling sessions. I also offer walking therapy as an alternative. In the first instance email me with your inquiry via the link provided so that we can arrange an initial session. The initial session (30 minutes) is free of charge with no obligation.
My fees are £60 per session (50 minutes) payable in advance or, on the day or by cash or bank transfer / BACS
Reviews
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to counselling, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
You can also call me on 07967 831712 if you would like to leave a message or speak to me first.
All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential.
Everything that is said within the counselling room is private - this is one of the main ways counselling and therapy differ from talking to a friend or relative. Once you are comfortable with the format of weekly sessions and the safe space they provide, you will find the freedom to speak in confidence is of great value.
Note that there are some situations where you may be a risk to yourself or others, and there the law requires that I notify an authority; in these cases I may not be able to keep total confidentiality. Breaking confidentiality is very rare though, and only happens after the person concerned has been informed.
Therapy can unfold in subtle or significant ways. You might begin to notice changes in how you relate to others, respond to challenges, or make sense of your experience. We’ll regularly check in on the process, and our initial agreement—what you hope to achieve in therapy—can be reviewed and adjusted as your needs change.
That’s completely okay. Therapy doesn’t require you to come with prepared topics. We can begin wherever you are—even if that means simply acknowledging that you're unsure. Often, meaningful insights emerge naturally through this process.
How long a period of counselling lasts will vary from person to person and depend on the depth of the issues they are facing. For some people a couple of sessions helps to bring their problems into focus, and they feel ready to move forward; other problems may require more of an open-ended approach.
Before we begin any work we will agree on the number of sessions we’ll undertake, and at the end of that number review our progress. As long as we both agree further therapy will be of benefit to you, sessions can continue.
My aim is to offer a first appointment - known as an initial assessment - within 1-2 weeks. Then we would arrange a set number of counselling sessions to take place at the same time every week, that is convenient for you and where I have availabity. How quickly these sessions can begin will depend on the availabity of that free ‘slot’.
